Engr. Md. Hasanur Rashid is an engineer, educationist, and business leader with over four decades of experience across energy, healthcare, education, and commerce. Recognized as an Incorporated Engineer (Engineering Council, UK.), Associate Fellow of SERT (UK.), and Member of the Institution of Electronics & Electrical Incorporated Engineers (UK.), he has dedicated his career to building institutions, advancing industry standards, and mentoring the next generation.
Currently, he serves as Honorary Advisor to A-Level Crash Courses (ALCC), an international platform supporting students in A-Level Mathematics, Physics, and Further Mathematics. In this honorary role, he provides strategic guidance, educational insight, and mentorship to the leadership team, helping strengthen the institution’s global reach.
He is also the Founder Director of AL-AMIN ASSOCIATES (PLC) LIMITED, one of Sylhet’s leading ventures in healthcare and education. Under his leadership, the group established Sylhet Central Dental College, Al-Amin Nursing College, and Al-Amin General Hospital, which continue to uphold excellence in academic training, patient care, and community service.
Earlier, he served as Managing Director of Shahjahanullah Power Generation Co. Ltd. (later acquired by United Group and now United Energy Ltd.), where he oversaw the development of a 24 MW Independent Power Plant and built international collaborations to strengthen Bangladesh’s energy sector. He has also contributed as a Partner of M/S Rahim & Rahim, one of Sylhet’s oldest petroleum distributors, and as Proprietor of Rasheed Electronics, once Sylhet’s hub for technology and innovation.
In education, he made a lasting contribution as Founder & Rector of Presidency School & College (an English Medium Institute regulated by the British Council), a pioneering institution delivering the British curriculum from playgroup to A-Level. His leadership emphasized discipline, innovation, and global exposure, leaving a legacy of academic excellence and community trust.
He is a graduate in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Colchester Institute, UK and also holds a B.Sc. in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) from Govt. Brajalal College (B. L. College, Khulna, Bangladesh). Although he is currently unwell and physically unable to move, he continues to manage his businesses and advisory responsibilities remotely. Despite health challenges, he remains committed to offering strategic direction, mentoring young leaders, and contributing to education, healthcare, and community development.
